Kaudulla National Park Jeep Safari

A jeep safari around the Kaudulla reservoir, Minneriya’s often quieter neighbour on the same elephant corridor.

About Kaudulla

Kaudulla National Park lies north of Minneriya and centres on another ancient reservoir. The two parks are linked by an elephant corridor, and herds move between them as the water and grazing change through the dry season. Kaudulla is often at its best later in the season, and many visitors find it less crowded.

What you might see

  • Wild elephants grazing and bathing at the water’s edge
  • Wetland birds such as storks, herons and cormorants
  • Spotted deer, monkeys and crocodiles
  • Wide views across grassland, water and forest

Your safari

Like Minneriya, Kaudulla is explored in open 4×4 jeeps. Your driver will advise which park is better on the day.

  • Bring binoculars, a hat and sun protection.
  • Stay in the vehicle and keep a respectful distance from the animals.
  • Never feed wildlife.

Prices, timings and inclusions vary by season and operator — ask our front desk for current details and to book.
